At Eat Speak Play, we offer a range of service delivery models to meet diverse needs and help children generalise skills across various environments. One of our key approaches involves the support of Allied Health Assistants (AHAs), who work under the supervision of our qualified therapists to deliver consistent, tailored care.

Our AHAs are in the final stages of their university studies, specialising in Speech Pathology. This program is a cost-effective way for children to access therapy within their home or school, enhancing continuity and consistency.

How Can an AHA Help Your Family?

  • Do you find it challenging to complete home practice regularly?

  • Are you looking for increased consistency in sessions to achieve faster progress?

  • Are you waiting for additional sessions with your therapist?

  • Does your child need therapy support at home or school to encourage skill generalisation?

  • Is your child on a waiting list for mild communication support?

Implementing Therapy Activities

Assisting clients with exercises and activities designed by therapists to target speech, language, motor, and sensory goals, helping children work towards their developmental milestones. This ensures children have consistency and appropriate intensity for their home practice.

Supporting Generalisation of Skills

Assisting clients in practising and applying learned skills across different settings and activities, helping them to generalise communication, motor, and self-care skills from the clinic to everyday environments like home, school, and community settings. This reinforces consistency and independence outside of therapy sessions.

Collaboration with Parents and Educators

Our AHAs work closely with teachers and families to maintain consistent therapy strategies across settings. By actively involving parents and educators, we support a well-rounded, community-based approach to skill reinforcement.
